In Toronto you can do a lot of things but for me I recommend you do this things: 
First in the morning at 9 am you can take breakfast in Mars, this is one of the most popular places to eat, it is located in Downtown Toronto is a restaurant all you can eat, you just have to pay 10 dollars per person, this restaurant have a lot of food lie eggs sandwich bake cheese and all the typical Canadian food.
 
At 12 pm you can visit the CN Tower, this is the most popular tower around the GTA the Gran Toronto Area, It is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers for me this is an obligated place to visit in Toronto, if you want to go at the top of the tower you have to pay around 10 dollars this is located in the center of the city.
At the time of lunch you have a lot of places to go but my favorite is Boston Pizza it have a lot of kinds of food, the specialization is the pizza this restaurant have 20 different kinds of food, plus they have seafood or you can have meat, the cost depends of what do you want to eat, Boston pizza is located in all commercial center around GTA.
In the afternoon f you are a person that love shop in Toronto is the perfect place to do it , Square One is the bigger commercial center in Toronto , tis commercial center has around 500 shop like apple Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, lacost, Hollister, Sony, adidas, nike, converse, and more. Rent car: You can rent a car in a company, it’s no so cheaper, but it’s comfortable and you can have privacy.

Ferries: They are expensive and comfortable, you can go to the island around Toronto with this transportation and it´s not public.

Roads: like in others parts of the world they are many roads in Toronto. They are in good conditions and you can have a comfortable travel going on it.
